Weekend mornings as a family are a rare commodity in our house. When it does happen, breakfast is a must. These limited times together I love to make a hearty breakfast that looks special and earn brownie points for the fanciness.
There are so many great ways to enjoy this sauce! Plus it will look like you slaved away in the kitchen! As pictured above are roasted sweet potatoes, chicken and apple sausage, poached eggs all topped with my blender hollandaise sauce. This sauce is super easy! Try this over asparagus, crab cakes, or anything you want! It takes approximately three minutes to make in a blender!
What you will need: Blender
1 - medium egg yolk
1 - medium lemon juice (1 1/2 teaspoons) or my favorite Lime juice! Slightly more tangy.
1/2 stick of butter (4 tablespoons)
cayenne (just a dash)
Place the egg yolk, lemon juice and cayenne in the blender. Combine together by a few quick pulses.
In a microwave safe container melt butter in the microwave. (Tip: Measuring cup is a great microwave safe container.) Once melted slowly drizzle the butter into the running blender adding to the egg yolk mixture. Adding the butter will create a frothy, creamy sauce. If sauce is thick, you can blend a teaspoon of water to loosen the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to your liking and enjoy immediately!
